Bill Brandt (May 3, 1904 – December 20, 1983) was a British photographer and photojournalist whose high-contrast images ranged from either documentatiin on British society to portraits, landscapes and nudes.

Career and life

Innate around Hamburg, Germany, the boy of the British father & German mother, he grew higher when World War I was raging, and contracted tuberculosis shortly after. This intended he spent much of his youth around the sanatorium within Davos, Switzerland, but he had already developed the talent for photography. He late moved to Paris where he assisted in the studio of Man Ray and met and photographed a poet Ezra Pound.

Around 1931 he moved to London where he began his documentation of British society, particularly the aristocracy. This rather coverage was non green around England at that instance. He published 2 books showcasing this act, A English home (1936) and The Nighttime around London (1938). At a height of the Surrealism movement, Brandt's work shows a influence of Human Ray & others exposed therein movement. He mass produced the residing as a regular contributor to magazines like ''Harper's Bazaar, Lilliput, Picture Post and The Bystander.

When World War 2, Brandt focused on portraits, landscapes & nudes, compiling the few of his works into a book &ndasdh; Literary Britain (1951), and the collection of his au naturel images, Perspective of Nudes'' (1961).

Brandt's act makes him Britain's virtually all influential lensman of the 20th century. Several of his works use at times crucial social comment, when his landscapes & nudes come dynamic, incredible & right – typically utilising wide-angles & distortion for symptom.
